The Heavenly Realm or Second Heaven

Attributes: Good

  • The Angel that is the Commander of the Heavenly Angels is Michael.
    • And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. (Revelation 12:7-8)
    • Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. (Jude 9)
    • Additionally, Michael is known as “one of the Chief Princes.” But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. (Daniel 10:13)
    • Michael is also referred to as the Angel in charge of Israel (as evidenced by “a certain (man from heaven) clothed in linen” (Daniel 10:5) speaking to Daniel referring to “Michael ‘your Prince’”). But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael “your prince.” (Daniel 10:21 quotation marks added)
  • The angel Gabriel is referenced in Daniel and Luke.
    • Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. (Daniel 9:21)
    • And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgins name was Mary. (Luke 1:26-27)
  • God’s Created Beings of Angels, Four Creatures, Archangels, Seraphim, and Teraphim, etc. They fellowship with God, They Carry out God’s Purpose and Interact with man as Directed by God.
  • God has two-thirds of the angels with Him, and Satan only has one-third of the angels with him. We get this inference from the concept that stars also represent angels and the statement in Revelation where Satan the Dragon swept a third of the stars from heaven bringing them down to earth.
    • And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. (Revelation 12:4)
    • And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:7-9)
    • There is nothing in the Bible that limits God from creating additional angels, but Satan is limited by design.
  • There are numerous internal levels of Heaven and Angels not listed here.
    • There are plenty of writings that claim to reveal the hierarchies of the angelic realm.
      • The most famous ones are the Major Key of Solomon and the Minor Key of Solomon.
      • Another famous hierarchy was drawn up by John Dee (1527-1609) with the help of scryer Edward Kelley (also a man of questionable moral character). He was the court astronomer for Queen Elizabeth I and spent much of his time studying alchemy, divination, and Hermetic philosophy. He signed his letters to the Queen “007” leading many to think he was spying for her when he traveled in Europe. When King James I ascended the throne, Dee was summarily dismissed from the Court.
      • As such, I do not trust either of these writings:
        • With King Solomon’s works, we do not have the proper provenance needed to determine whether these works were divinely inspired or written when he was in his fallen state. (I Kings 11:6-8)
        • The problems with Dee’s works are obvious. The Bible strictly forbids communications with untested and familiar spirits. Any reading of his works will demonstrate clearly that he did not properly test the spirits. (Leviticus 19:26, 31, Deuteronomy 18:10, I John 4:1-2)
        • A "scryer" uses a crystal ball or some other kind of divining instrument (e.g., a divining rod, peep-stone) to discover information from the spirit world that is not readily available by normal research or study. Most scrying is done either by witches, wizards, or other purveyors of the occult arts, hence the Bible's condemnation of their practices.
  • Heaven also includes souls and spirits of the Righteous Dead awaiting their resurrection.
